When I first posted Ethan’s video (Breaking the autism glass ceiling) I wanted to show others how a nonverbal child could reach their full potential. I want to show that every child is teachable, and that you just have to find the correct method to teach them.
This is a story about Wyatt – an 11 year old boy with severe autism. When we started working with Wyatt 2 years ago, he was nonverbal and had behaviors that interfered with his learning.
For two years, Wyatt has been taught using visual communication for just a couple of hours a week after school; and yet, he has still made remarkable progress.
Wyatt’s story is a message of hope and shows that there are other ways to work with our kids, not just the methods that have been used to teach them for years.

Everyone is teachable, you just have to find the right method to teach.
